Genesis

Genesis means 'beginnings'. It is generally considered to be written by Moses, between 1450 - 1400 BC. Opening with the account of creation, it records how sin marred God's handiwork, and provides a dramatic record of the great flood that almost destroyed all of civilization. It relates the birth of our modern Jewish and Arabic nations. Key people mentioned include Adam & Eve, Noah, Abraham & Sarah, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph.
