What does it mean to be twice sealed by the Spirit ? What does "seal" really mean ? Is it like the old wax seal blobbed onto an envelope and pressed with a signet ring to show who the letter is from ? Why do we need to be sealed on the inside and on the top ?
Hi Tigger,
I don't know where the Bible talks about being sealed twice. In Ephesians 1, using the Children's Living Bible, I find mention made that Christians enjoy the presence of the Holy Spirit within, and the seal without.
I believe you are right though about the external seal. The seal is a sign of ownership and authority. When I first started working for a bank as a young man, we used to seal important documents with a wax seal, and this process is still used by the legal profession.
If you have found a Bible reference talking of double sealing, please let me know and I will explore further.
Lord bless

Thanks Terry. I misheard you in your sermon yesterday. One seal is enough.
